Training
Graduating from Harvard College, Magna Cum Laude with a degree in biology, Mitch decided to return to McGill for his medical training. President of his graduating medical class, he did a rotating internship from which he was recruited to the Emergency Medicine residency where his leadership abilities were recognized by his being made chief resident. Realizing the opportunity for expanding the depth of the residency program, he was the first fellow in that program. He helped to establish a training rotation for the residency program at the Shock Trauma Center of the University of Maryland and when he returned to McGill he began a career in clinical research which led to him presenting at the 2nd International Emergency Medicine Congress in Brisbane, Australia and ultimately a position as the Research Director for the Emergency Medicine Department. Subsequently his skills in management led to his appointment as Acting Director of the Department. |
